Color Sensor TCS3200 Arduino Color Sensor
A color filter array fabricated on top of a single monochrome CCD or CMOS image sensor. The most common color filter array pattern, the Bayer pattern, uses a checkerboard arrangement of two green pixels for each red and blue pixel, although many other color filter patterns have been develop, including patterns using cyan, magenta, yellow, and white pixels.
Integral color sensors were initially manufacture by transferring colored dyes through photoresist windows onto a polymer receiving layer coated on top of a monochrome CCD sensor.
Since each pixel provides only a single color (such as green), the “missing” color values (such as red and blue) for the pixel are interpolate using neighboring pixels.

Color Sensor TCS3200 Arduino Color Sensor
To select the color read by the photodiode, you use the control pins S2 and S3. As the photodiodes are connect in parallel, setting the S2 and S3 LOW and HIGH in different combinations allows you to select different photo diode. Take a look at the table below:

Frequency scaling
Pins S0 and S1 are use for scaling the output frequency. It can be scale to the following preset values: 100%, 20% or 2%. Scaling the output frequency is useful to optimize the sensor readings for various frequency counters or microcontrollers. Take a look at the table below:
